Shanghai Pudong lounges PVG: every lounge and how to get in
Pudong is China's biggest international gateway, yet its lounge map runs on numbered contractor rooms rather than airline flagships. Here is every lounge we can verify across T1, T2 and the satellite halls, with hours where confirmed.
Lounge verdict Adequate, not generous. Sixteen lounges across two terminals and two satellite halls, three on Priority Pass, and paid entry from about 136 yuan. Every verified lounge closes by 23:00.
Best access play Priority Pass covers all three international departure zones: the No. 39 VIP Lounge in T1, the No. 69 VIP Lounge in T2, and the No. 170 VIP Lounge in the S2 satellite. Whichever pier you leave from, one door opens.
The one thing to know Every Priority Pass lounge at PVG enforces a 2 hour maximum stay, so time your entry for the stretch right before boarding.

Terminal 1
Terminal 1 lounges, the China Eastern side
Terminal 1 belongs to China Eastern and Shanghai Airlines, with SkyTeam visitors like Delta, Air France, KLM and Korean Air alongside. The airline rooms here are China Eastern's, and the independent door is the No. 39 VIP Lounge upstairs in international departures.
China Eastern runs three numbered rooms in T1: No. 36 on the international side, which splits into separate first and business sections and is managed together with Plaza Premium, plus No. 35 and No. 101 on the domestic side. Those doors open for premium cabins, eligible SkyTeam status, and lounge pass holders. We could not verify current hours for the China Eastern rooms, so those cells say to be confirmed.

Terminal 2
Terminal 2 lounges, where most foreign carriers fly
Terminal 2 takes most of the international lineup: Air China, Emirates, Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways, United and British Airways all fly from here. The two rooms that matter sit upstairs in international departures, No. 69 and No. 77.
No. 69 is a contractor lounge used by a rotating list of foreign carriers, and it doubles as the Terminal 2 Priority Pass door, open later than its T1 counterpart at 6:00 to 23:00. No. 77 is China Eastern's room operated with Plaza Premium, known for its wide views across the apron. We could not verify a dedicated Air China lounge in T2; its premium passengers are generally directed to the contractor rooms.
| Lounge | Location | Hours | Access | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| No. 69 VIP Lounge | Upper floor, international departures, near Gate 69 | 6:00 to 23:00 | Priority Pass with a 2 hour limit, eligible American Express cards, or lounge passes about 217 yuan | The T2 workhorse. First and business sections, separate smoking room. |
| No. 77 China Eastern Lounge | International departures, near Gate 77 | To be confirmed | China Eastern premium cabins, eligible SkyTeam status, or lounge passes about 260 yuan | Plaza Premium operated, with runway views along the glass. |
| First Class Lounge No. 73 | T2 domestic departures, airside | To be confirmed | Lounge passes about 136 yuan | Basic domestic room near the central gates. |
| Juneyao Air No. 86 VIP Lounge | T2 domestic departures, airside | To be confirmed | Juneyao Air premium passengers or lounge passes about 143 yuan | Juneyao's home room, domestic side. |
| The Hub Lounge | T2 landside, before security | To be confirmed | Lounge passes about 237 yuan | The only landside lounge at PVG. |

Satellites S1 and S2
Satellite hall lounges, check your gate first
The satellite complex opened in 2019 and a large share of wide body departures now board there. S1 serves Terminal 1 and S2 serves Terminal 2, each reached by an underground people mover that runs about every 2 to 3 minutes. Check your boarding gate before you settle into a terminal lounge.
Six lounges operate across the two halls. China Eastern's No. 137 in S1 is the newest and carries the priciest pass at the airport at about 298 yuan. The No. 170 VIP Lounge in S2 is the only satellite room on Priority Pass, and recent reviews confirm it has showers, which are rare on the PVG lounge map. The domestic rooms in both halls are simple but cheap.
| Lounge | Location | Hours | Access | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| No. 170 VIP Lounge | S2 international departures, near Gate 170 | 6:00 to 23:00 | Priority Pass with a 2 hour limit, or lounge passes about 217 yuan | Showers and free luggage storage. The best Priority Pass room at PVG. |
| No. 137 China Eastern Lounge | S1 international departures | To be confirmed | China Eastern premium cabins, eligible SkyTeam status, or lounge passes about 298 yuan | The newest China Eastern room. |
| No. 135 VIP Lounge | S1 international departures | To be confirmed | Lounge passes about 217 yuan | Contractor room for S1 international flyers. |
| No. 120 VIP Lounge | S1 domestic departures | To be confirmed | Lounge passes about 163 yuan | The domestic satellite option on the S1 side. |
| China Southern VIP Lounge No. 152 | S2 domestic departures | To be confirmed | China Southern premium passengers or lounge passes about 149 yuan | China Southern's domestic room. |
| No. 190 VIP Lounge | S2 domestic departures | To be confirmed | Lounge passes about 163 yuan | The S2 domestic backup when No. 152 is full. |

Which doors open for you at PVG
Work down this list and stop at the first line that matches you. That is your lounge.
Priority Pass. Three doors, one per international departure zone: No. 39 in Terminal 1 on the fourth floor near security checks 10 and 11, No. 69 in Terminal 2 above Gate 69, and No. 170 in the S2 satellite near Gate 170. All three accept the digital card, admit children under 2 free, and enforce a 2 hour maximum stay. Full detail sits on our Priority Pass at Pudong (PVG) guide.
A paid lounge pass. Most of the numbered rooms sell single entry through lounge pass platforms, from about 136 yuan for a basic domestic lounge up to about 298 yuan for the No. 137 China Eastern Lounge in S1. On a 4 hour layover a 217 yuan seat with food beats the terminal benches. Walk up rates at the lounge desks are to be confirmed, so book the pass before you fly if you want certainty.
Cabin or status. China Eastern and Shanghai Airlines premium passengers and eligible SkyTeam status holders use the China Eastern rooms: No. 36 in T1, No. 77 in T2, No. 137 in S1, plus the domestic rooms. Most foreign carriers at PVG contract their premium passengers into the numbered lounges instead of running their own, so check the lounge invitation printed on your boarding pass.
An eligible American Express. The No. 69 VIP Lounge in Terminal 2 appears in the American Express lounge directory for Platinum cardholders. Terms change, so confirm your card's current lounge benefit with Amex before relying on it at the door.
What PVG does not have. No lounge here runs 24 hours, there is no free card lounge network like Japan's, and the only landside room is The Hub Lounge in T2. If you land after 23:00, the sleeping pods and the in terminal hotel in our sleeping at Pudong guide are the honest fallback.
