Editorial standards
How we research, verify and correct every guide
LayoverIndex is published by Kings Hospitality LLC and written by two named people. This is the standard every guide is held to, and exactly what to do when we get something wrong.
Accuracy
How a guide gets researched and written
Accuracy is the product. A layover guide that gets one lounge wrong has failed at its only job.
Every guide is researched against current sources before it is written: official airport and airline pages, lounge operator listings, and access-program directories. We check lounge names, opening hours, access rules, terminal locations, transfer routes and connection times. We write to a verdict a traveler can act on, not a restatement of an airport's own marketing.
Anything we cannot confirm against a current source is written as "to be confirmed" rather than guessed. We would rather tell you we do not know than tell you something that strands you at the gate.
Accountability
Named authors and a second-person review
There are no anonymous guides on this site. Every page carries a byline naming the founder who wrote it, and the work is split evenly: Fredrik Filipsson and Morten Andersen each write and maintain roughly half the airports.
No guide is published on one person's word alone. Each page is reviewed by the other founder before and after it goes live, and the reviewer is named on the page. You can see who writes what on the authors page.
Independence
Who pays us, and what that does not buy
LayoverIndex is independent. No airport, airline or lounge operator pays for placement, and none gets to soften a verdict. Bad layover airports get called bad layover airports.
Some outbound links may earn us a commission at no cost to you. That is disclosed on every page, and it has never changed what a guide says. We do not run deceptive ads, hidden fees or pay-to-play reviews.
Sourcing
Visa, entry and safety claims
Visa rules, transit-entry requirements and airport-safety conditions change without notice and carry real consequences. For these, we keep claims conservative and tell you plainly to verify before travel with an official government or airline source. Where we cite a rule, we link the primary source so you can check it yourself.
Freshness
Dates and how often we update
Every guide shows the date it was last reviewed. We refresh guides on a rolling basis, busiest hubs first, and any confirmed correction resets that page's review date. If a page looks out of date, the date will tell you.
Corrections
Found a mistake? Here's what happens
If a lounge has closed, an hour has changed, a price has moved or an access rule is wrong, tell us through the contact form. Corrections from travelers who were just there are how this index stays accurate, and they jump the review queue.
A confirmed factual error is usually fixed within a few days. When we fix it, the page gets a new last-reviewed date so you can see it was updated. The contact form reaches the founders directly, not a support queue.
