Hong Kong International Lounges (HKG): Every Lounge and How to Get In
Hong Kong International runs about 19 lounges, every one of them in the Terminal 1 airside zone or the Midfield Concourse. Two never close, four take Priority Pass, and the best of them belongs on any list of the finest lounges in the world. Here is the full map.
- Lounge verdict
- Very good and getting better. Cathay Pacific fields five open lounges including The Pier First, the renovated Wing First reopened in April 2026, and travelers without status get two 24 hour Plaza Premium doors plus the excellent Kyra near gate 23.
- Best access play
- Priority Pass opens Kyra Lounge near gate 23 and the Plaza Premium Lounges near gates 1, 35 and 60. The East Hall and West Hall Plaza Premium locations run around the clock, which makes an HKG overnight one of the easiest in Asia.
- The one thing to know
- Even if you check in at the new Terminal 2, every lounge sits airside in Terminal 1 or the Midfield Concourse. Pick your lounge by gate area, not by terminal, and note The Wing Business is closed for renovation until around mid 2027.

How the HKG lounge map works
One airside zone decides everything. Terminal 1, the Midfield Concourse and the Satellite Concourse connect without immigration, so any lounge is technically reachable from any gate. In practice the walk matters: lounges cluster at the East Hall around gates 1 to 23, in the West Hall and pier from gate 35 out to gate 65, and one outpost sits in the Midfield Concourse. Departures level splits across Level 6 and Level 7, and several doors hide one escalator ride above or below the gate corridor, so check the level before you commit to a walk.
Hours below were checked on 16 May 2026 against the airport's official lounge lists. The big story this year is Cathay's renovation shuffle: The Wing First reopened on 22 April 2026 with a new spa concept, The Wing Business closed the next day until around mid 2027, and the displaced crowd now spreads across The Pier, The Bridge and The Deck. The other story is churn among the card lounges. The Chase Sapphire Lounge closed on 5 January 2026 and reopened within days as a second Kyra, while the United Club came back in October 2025 after five years dark. Several lounges that closed in 2020, including the Korean Air and China Airlines rooms, no longer appear on the airport's lounge list at all.
Terminal 1 East Hall
East Hall and central concourse lounges, gates 1 to 23
| Lounge | Location | Hours | Access | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cathay Pacific The Wing First | After the south departures exit, Level 7 | 05:30 to last flight | Cathay first class and top Cathay elites; oneworld first and Emerald are directed to The Pier for now | Reopened 22 April 2026 after full renovation with a new spa concept; the flagship is back |
| Cathay Pacific The Wing Business | Near gate 2, Level 6 | Closed | Closed for renovation, reopening expected around mid 2027 | Plan around The Deck or The Bridge instead |
| Cathay Pacific The Deck | Near gate 6, Level 7 | 05:30 to 00:30 | Cathay and oneworld business class, oneworld Sapphire | Terrace views over the apron and eight shower suites; the calm pick near the East Hall gates |
| Singapore Airlines SilverKris | Near gate 5, Level 6 | 06:00 to 00:00 | Singapore Airlines premium cabins, Star Alliance business and first, Star Alliance Gold | The Star Alliance default here; the airport lists 18 Star carriers against this door |
| The Qantas Hong Kong Lounge | Near gate 5, Level 7, right after the north departures exit | 07:30 to 23:00 | Qantas and Starlux premium cabins and eligible elites and members | Big room with a Neil Perry designed menu; it shrugged off years of closure rumours |
| Plaza Premium Lounge (East Hall) | Near gate 1, Level 6 | 24 hours | Priority Pass, paid entry, American Express Global Lounge Collection | One of two HKG doors that never closes; the overnight anchor on this side |
| Plaza Premium First (East Hall) | Near gate 1, Level 6 | 06:30 to 01:00 | Paid entry; card and program access to be confirmed | The premium tier next door with table service; quieter than the main lounge |
| Kyra Lounge | Near gate 23, Level 6 | 05:30 to 23:30 | Priority Pass, paid entry bookable online | Opened July 2024; arguably the best Priority Pass room at HKG, with proper Hong Kong cooking |
The East Hall is where travelers without status do best. Kyra near gate 23 serves baked pork chop rice and dim sum that embarrass most airline lounges, and the 24 hour Plaza Premium near gate 1 takes the overnight shift. With The Wing Business closed, business passengers entering from the south security lanes should keep walking to The Deck rather than queue for the busier rooms further out.
West Hall and the pier
West Hall and Sky Bridge area lounges, gates 35 to 65
| Lounge | Location | Hours | Access | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cathay Pacific The Bridge | Near gate 35, Level 6 | 05:30 to last flight | Cathay and oneworld business class, oneworld Sapphire | Refreshed under Cathay's redesigned lounge concept; the busiest of the business doors |
| Plaza Premium Lounge | Near gate 35, Level 6 | 06:00 to 01:00 | Priority Pass, paid entry, American Express Global Lounge Collection | The midpoint option when your gate sits in the 30s and 40s |
| Plaza Premium First | Near gate 35, Level 6 | 06:00 to 01:00 | Paid entry; card and program access to be confirmed | Made to order dining and a champagne bar; the upgrade pick of the pay in set |
| Emirates Lounge | Near gate 40, Level 7 | 17:40 to 23:35 | Emirates first and business, Skywards Platinum and Gold | Freshly refurbished, but evening hours only, matched to the Dubai departures |
| Kyra | Taste of Priceless | Near gate 40, Level 7 | 06:00 to 23:59 | Paid entry and Mastercard program access; Priority Pass listing to be confirmed | The former Chase Sapphire Lounge, relaunched January 2026 by the same operator |
| United Club | Near gate 60, Level 7 | 05:30 to 23:00 | Star Alliance business and first, Star Alliance Gold, United Club members | Reopened October 2025 after five years closed; the Star Alliance stop on the west side |
| The Centurion Lounge | Near gate 60, Level 7 | 06:00 to 00:00 | Amex Centurion and Platinum cardholders; entry within 3 hours of departure unless connecting | Amex's first Centurion outside the US, opened 2017; excellent cocktails, real crowds |
| Plaza Premium Lounge (West Hall) | Near gate 60, Level 7 | 24 hours | Priority Pass, paid entry, American Express Global Lounge Collection | The other door that never closes; the default for departures from the high gates |
| Refreshhh by Aerotel | Near gate 60, Level 7 | 24 hours | Paid showers, massage and resting space | Not a lounge, but it solves the 3 am shower problem for a modest fee |
| Cathay Pacific The Pier First | Near gate 63, Level 6 | 05:30 to 00:30 | Cathay first class, oneworld first, oneworld Emerald | The best lounge at HKG and a regular on lists of the best in the world; arrive early on purpose |
| Cathay Pacific The Pier Business | Near gate 65, Level 6 | 05:30 to 00:30 | Cathay and oneworld business class, oneworld Sapphire | The Noodle Bar and Teahouse make it the strongest business room on the property |
The far end of the pier is the destination. The Pier First near gate 63 rewards a deliberate early arrival with a la carte dining, day suites and a tea room, and The Pier Business next door is the best Cathay business lounge by a clear margin. The gate 60 cluster is the busiest lounge corner at the airport: United Club, the Centurion, the 24 hour Plaza Premium and Refreshhh all stack within a minute of each other, so a plan B is always one door away.
Midfield and Terminal 2
Midfield Concourse and Terminal 2 lounges
| Lounge | Location | Hours | Access | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Club Autus | Near gates 201 to 230, Level 7, Midfield Concourse | 06:30 to 02:30 | Hong Kong Airlines premium cabins and elites; other access to be confirmed | The latest closing lounge at HKG; useful when a Midfield departure runs past midnight |
The Midfield Concourse holds gates 201 to 230 and exactly one lounge, Hong Kong Airlines' Club Autus, which stays open to 02:30, later than anything else on the property. Everyone else relies on the free resting zones the airport runs in the concourse, which are covered in our HKG sleeping guide. Terminal 2 reopened for departures on 27 May 2026, but no lounges are listed there yet; T2 passengers clear security and head to the Terminal 1 gate areas, where every door in this directory sits. Expect that to change as the terminal ramps up, with any new openings to be confirmed.

What actually opens these doors
Priority Pass is the practical key at HKG: Kyra Lounge near gate 23 plus the Plaza Premium Lounges near gates 1, 35 and 60. Two of those Plaza Premium doors run 24 hours, which is rarer than it should be at airports this size. The second Kyra near gate 40 reopened under the same operator that runs Priority Pass lounges elsewhere, but its listing is to be confirmed; check the app on the day.
DragonPass coverage at HKG overlaps with the pay in lounges but the current door list is to be confirmed; verify your specific membership in the app before relying on it here.
American Express runs the Centurion Lounge near gate 60 for Centurion and Platinum cardholders, open 06:00 to 00:00, with entry limited to 3 hours before departure unless you are connecting. Platinum also opens the Plaza Premium Lounges through the Global Lounge Collection. Guest rules tighten from 8 July 2026, so check your card's current terms before promising seats to your travel companions.
Mastercard picked up a flag here in January 2026: the former Chase Sapphire space near gate 40 now trades as Kyra | Taste of Priceless, with paid entry alongside Mastercard program access. Exact eligibility by card tier is to be confirmed with the operator.
Paying at the door works at both Kyra locations, all five Plaza Premium rooms and Refreshhh by Aerotel. Current rates vary by lounge and stay length and are to be confirmed at booking; reserving online ahead of travel is the only way to guarantee space at peak times.
Class of travel and status covers the rest: five Cathay lounges for oneworld, the SilverKris and United Club for Star Alliance, plus the Qantas, Emirates and Hong Kong Airlines rooms. With The Wing Business closed until around mid 2027, the surviving Cathay business lounges run fuller than they used to, so walk one lounge further out than the crowd does. For the full card strategy, see the HKG Priority Pass guide.
