Abu Dhabi Zayed Lounges (AUH): Every Lounge and How to Get In
Every passenger flight at Abu Dhabi now leaves from Terminal A, and the lounge list is short and strong: three Etihad lounges, one independent door that takes Priority Pass, and a private VVIP terminal at the end of Pier A. Here is the full map.
- Lounge verdict
- Very good for such a short list. The Pearl Lounge runs 24 hours and lets almost anyone in by card or cash, and the Etihad complex between piers C and D is among the best airline lounge setups in the region.
- Best access play
- Priority Pass into the Pearl Lounge near gate D43, any hour of the day. Spare visits convert to 99 dirhams off the bill at TGI Fridays or a 20 minute massage at XpresSpa, both inside Terminal A.
- The one thing to know
- The Pearl Lounge caps every visit at three hours and Etihad sells paid access in four hour blocks. On a long overnight layover, plan a second act rather than expecting one lounge to carry you through.

How the AUH lounge map works
One terminal decides everything here, and that is a gift. Zayed International moved all commercial flights into Terminal A in late 2023, retiring the old terminals and their lounges with them. The new map is simple: the Etihad lounge complex stacks across three floors between piers C and D, the Pearl Lounge sits on the departures level near gate D43, and the Diamond Lounge occupies its own private facility at the end of Pier A with landside access. No terminal changes, no shuttle buses, no second security maze between you and the door you want.
Hours below were checked on 21 April 2026. Abu Dhabi is a night hub, with the big departure waves to Asia, Australia and Europe rolling through between late evening and the small hours, so the lounges that matter run around the clock instead of closing with the shops. The catch is dwell time, not opening time. Pearl enforces a three hour maximum stay and Etihad prices its paid entry by the four hour block, so a ten hour overnight still needs a plan beyond a single lounge visit. Flying to the United States adds one more wrinkle: AUH has US preclearance, and once you pass the CBP desks the main lounges are behind you for good.
Terminal A
Etihad lounges
| Lounge | Location | Hours | Access | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Etihad First Class Lounge | Upper floor of the Etihad complex between piers C and D, private elevator entry | 24 hours | The Residence and First passengers; Etihad Guest Platinum with the lounge access benefit; Business passengers can buy entry | The regional benchmark, with a la carte dining and ensuite shower suites; worth buying up to if you hold a Business ticket on a long layover |
| Etihad Business Class Lounge | Between piers C and D, spread over three floors | 24 hours | Etihad Business passengers; Etihad Guest Gold and Platinum plus one guest; paid entry for Etihad passengers, excluding US flights | The workhorse: Liwan restaurant, the Constellation Bar, showers and a games room for families; big enough that the night waves rarely overwhelm it |
| Etihad US Preclearance Lounge | After the US CBP preclearance checkpoint | Open around US departures; exact hours to be confirmed | The Residence, First and Business to the US; Etihad Guest Platinum plus one guest; Emerald plus two; paid entry available | Opened December 2024; light bites and drinks rather than a full lounge, but the only comfort once you clear CBP |
Etihad confirms all three of its flagship Terminal A lounges run 24/7, which matches how this airport actually breathes. The Business Class Lounge is the one most travelers will see and it earns its reputation: a proper restaurant rather than a buffet trough, a real bar, and enough floor space across three levels to absorb the 2 am rush. The First Class Lounge above it is quieter, smaller and noticeably more polished, and the buy up from a Business ticket is one of the few lounge upsells we would actually pay for.
The US preclearance rule trips people constantly. Etihad's paid lounge access explicitly excludes US flights because preclearance seals you off from the main complex. Eat and shower in the Business or First lounge before you clear CBP, then treat the Preclearance Lounge as a holding pen with better snacks. Allow extra time; the preclearance queue itself can run long at the morning US departure bank.
Terminal A
Independent lounges and other doors
| Lounge | Location | Hours | Access | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pearl Lounge | Departures level, airside, near gate D43 | 24 hours | Priority Pass, DragonPass, LoungeKey, Diners Club, Amex Platinum, paid entry from around 40 dollars; 3 hour maximum stay | Run with Plaza Premium, around 500 seats, showers included; the default for anyone without an Etihad ticket, and good at the price |
| Diamond Lounge | End of Pier A, private entrance from landside | 24 hours | Paid VVIP packages booked through Allways, departures and arrivals; pricing to be confirmed on enquiry | Private check in, dedicated immigration and security desks, limousine to the aircraft; a separate product for a separate budget |
| Yas Island Lounge | Arrivals area | To be confirmed | Complimentary for arriving guests | A welcome lounge for planning and booking Yas Island visits, not a rest and shower facility |
| TGI Fridays | Terminal A, airside | Restaurant hours, to be confirmed | Priority Pass credit of 99 dirhams off the bill; children not admitted under the offer | A real cooked meal for a lounge visit; the smart play when you have eaten enough buffet this trip |
| XpresSpa | Terminal A, airside | To be confirmed | Priority Pass visit converts to a face mask and 20 minute massage, valued at 45 dollars | The wildcard use of a spare visit on a long itinerary; bring your boarding pass |
The Pearl Lounge is the door that matters for most readers. It is large by contract lounge standards, it never closes, and it stacks access methods: Priority Pass, DragonPass, LoungeKey, Diners Club, Amex Platinum through the partner network, or plain money from around 40 dollars when booked online. Two caveats. Card entry covers the main section, with the premium zone sold as a paid upgrade at the desk. And the three hour cap is enforced, so time your entry against boarding rather than walking in the moment you land.
The rest of the table is situational. Diamond Lounge is a private terminal experience rather than a lounge you wander into, booked ahead through Allways with your own immigration desk and a car to the aircraft. Yas Island Lounge in arrivals is a concierge stop, useful only if a theme park is in your plans. TGI Fridays and XpresSpa exist to soak up surplus Priority Pass visits, and on a 2 am layover a plate of hot food beats a second lap of the buffet.

What actually opens these doors
Priority Pass covers one true lounge at AUH, the Pearl Lounge near gate D43, plus two alternatives inside Terminal A: a 99 dirham credit at TGI Fridays and a 20 minute massage with face mask at XpresSpa. That sounds thin next to a megahub list, but a 24 hour lounge that rarely locks its door is worth more than five lounges that close at 10 pm. The full strategy lives in our guide to using Priority Pass at Abu Dhabi Zayed.
DragonPass, LoungeKey and Diners Club all open the same Pearl Lounge door, with the same main section access and the same three hour clock. If your bank card carries any of these programs, you are covered at AUH.
American Express has no Centurion lounge here. Amex Platinum cardholders get the Pearl Lounge through the card's lounge network, which in practice puts Platinum holders in exactly the same room as Priority Pass holders.
Paying at the door works at two operators. Pearl sells entry from around 40 dollars per adult, cheaper online than walking up. Etihad sells access to its Business Class Lounge to passengers on its own flights in four and eight hour blocks, payable in cash or Etihad Guest miles, with US departures excluded; check the current rate when you book, since prices vary by sales channel. First Lounge paid entry requires a Business ticket. Children under two enter Etihad lounges free and ages two to twelve pay half.
Class of travel and status covers the Etihad complex. The Residence and First open the First Class Lounge, Business opens the Business Class Lounge, and Etihad Guest Gold and Platinum each bring one guest into the Business lounge, with Platinum able to choose First lounge access as a tier benefit. Partner airline elites have arrangements that shift year to year, so confirm yours before relying on it at the desk.
Rules move and operators rebrand. Treat the tables above as the map and confirm the specific door you are counting on the day you fly.

Which Abu Dhabi airport lounges take Priority Pass?
One true lounge: the Pearl Lounge near gate D43 in Terminal A, open 24 hours with a three hour maximum stay. Priority Pass also converts a visit into 99 dirhams off the bill at TGI Fridays or a 20 minute massage with face mask at XpresSpa, both airside in Terminal A.
Can I pay for a lounge at AUH without flying business class?
Yes. The Pearl Lounge sells entry from around 40 dollars per adult, cheaper when booked online. Etihad also sells access to its Business Class Lounge to passengers on its own flights in four and eight hour blocks, payable in cash or Etihad Guest miles, except on flights to the US.
Are the Etihad lounges at Abu Dhabi open 24 hours?
Yes. Etihad confirms its flagship First and Business lounges in Terminal A run 24/7, matching the overnight departure waves. The Pearl Lounge and the Diamond Lounge private terminal also operate around the clock.
Is there an arrivals lounge at Abu Dhabi airport?
There is no traditional paid arrivals lounge with showers. The Yas Island Lounge in the arrivals area offers complimentary help planning and booking Yas Island visits, and the Diamond Lounge private terminal handles arrivals for paying VVIP guests.
Is there a lounge after US preclearance at AUH?
Yes. Etihad opened a dedicated US Preclearance Lounge in December 2024, steps from the CBP facility. It is free for The Residence, First and Business passengers, Etihad Guest Platinum members with one guest and Emerald members with two, and paid entry is also sold.
What happened to the Al Dhabi and Al Reem lounges?
They closed when all flights moved from the old terminals into Terminal A in late 2023. The Pearl Lounge near gate D43 is the replacement contract lounge for Priority Pass and similar programs, and it is a clear upgrade.
