Toronto Pearson Lounges (YYZ): Every Lounge and How to Get In
Toronto Pearson runs 13 working lounges across two terminals and six sealed security zones. Six doors take Priority Pass and five sell entry to anyone with a boarding pass. Here is the full map, zone by zone.
- Lounge verdict
- Solid rather than spectacular. Air Canada dominates with six facilities in Terminal 1, Plaza Premium covers the independents, and the Signature Suite is the best airport dining room in Canada if your ticket qualifies.
- Best access play
- Priority Pass opens six doors: five Plaza Premium lounges across both terminals plus the KLM Crown Lounge in Terminal 3, the strongest lounge outside Air Canada's empire, with a 3 hour stay cap.
- The one thing to know
- Your zone, not your terminal, decides your options. Domestic, international and US transborder are sealed areas, and the US transborder lounges close between 19:00 and 21:00, so an evening US departure can mean no lounge at all.
Orientation
How the Pearson lounge map works
The zone decides everything at YYZ. Each terminal splits into three sealed areas: domestic, international and US transborder, and your destination rather than your airline decides where you sit. US bound passengers clear American immigration at Pearson before boarding, which is wonderful on arrival in the States and limiting before departure, because the transborder lounges sit behind preclearance and close early. Terminal 1 belongs to Air Canada and its Star Alliance partners. Terminal 3 hosts everyone else: WestJet, the SkyTeam carriers, American Airlines and most of the leisure operators.
Hours below were checked on 29 April 2026. Pearson has no 24 hour lounge; the two late doors are the Plaza Premium lounges in Terminal 1 domestic and Terminal 3 international, both open until 01:00. One structural gap matters more than any other right now: the Plaza Premium lounge in the Terminal 1 international zone, across from gate E77, has been temporarily closed since 27 December 2025, which leaves that entire zone with no lounge that sells entry.
Terminal 1 · Domestic
Terminal 1 domestic lounges
| Lounge | Location | Hours | Access | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge | Level 2, near gate D20 | 05:00 to midnight | Air Canada and Star Alliance business class, Star Alliance Gold, top tier Aeroplan credit cards | The flagship domestic lounge with showers and a rest zone; big enough that a seat is rarely the problem |
| Air Canada Café | Down the stairs near gate D20, after domestic security | 05:00 to 21:30 | Same keys as the Maple Leaf Lounge | Espresso bar and grab and go plates; the calmer pick when the main lounge is heaving |
| Plaza Premium Lounge | Domestic departures area | 05:30 to 01:00 | Priority Pass, DragonPass, eligible Amex Canada cards, paid entry | The only domestic door without status, and the latest close in the zone by some distance |
The domestic zone is Air Canada country. If you hold a business class ticket or Star Alliance Gold, the Maple Leaf Lounge is the default and the Café underneath it is the smarter stop for a 45 minute connection: same access rules, better coffee, no hunt for a table. Everyone else gets exactly one door, the Plaza Premium, and its 01:00 close makes it the right call for the late evening westbound departures.
Terminal 1 · International
Terminal 1 international lounges
| Lounge | Location | Hours | Access | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge | Level 3, Node F, between the E and F international gates | Opens 04:15 to 04:30, closes 22:30 to 23:00, varies by day | Air Canada and Star Alliance international business class, Star Alliance Gold | Huge, with showers and a rest zone; gets slammed during the evening transatlantic bank |
| Air Canada Signature Suite | Next to gate E77, upper level | 11:00 to 23:30; from 14:00 Tue and Sat | Air Canada Signature Class on eligible long haul fares to Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand; Lufthansa Group HON Circle; Lufthansa and Swiss First; Emirates First; no guests | A real restaurant with an a la carte menu by chef David Hawksworth and champagne at the bar; the best airport food in Canada |
| Plaza Premium Lounge | Across from gate E77, upper level | Temporarily closed; a Lounge to Go counter runs 05:30 to 01:00 | Lounge access suspended while closed | Shut since 27 December 2025 with no reopening date posted; do not plan a layover around it |
This zone holds the headline act and the missing tooth. The Signature Suite is the single best reason to book a paid Air Canada Signature Class fare out of Toronto, and the entry rules are genuinely strict: eligible booking classes only, no upgrades, no guests. Meanwhile the Plaza Premium closure means a traveler without status or a premium cabin currently has no lounge at all in Terminal 1 international. If lounge time matters to you on an economy international itinerary, a Terminal 3 departure is now the better draw at Pearson.
Terminal 1 · US transborder
Terminal 1 US transborder lounges
| Lounge | Location | Hours | Access | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge | F gates, Levels 2 and 3 | 04:45 to 20:30 | Air Canada and Star Alliance business class to the US, Star Alliance Gold, top tier Aeroplan credit cards | The full service transborder option; settle in here rather than at the gates |
| Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge Express | Level 1, near gates F84 to F99 | 05:00 to 20:30 | Same keys as the main transborder lounge | Compact grab and go format out by the regional jet gates; handy, not a destination |
| Plaza Premium Lounge | Past US preclearance, F gates | 05:30 to 21:00 | Priority Pass, DragonPass, eligible Amex Canada cards, paid entry | The only transborder door without status or an Air Canada key, and the last one to close |
Preclearance changes the math. Once through US immigration you are committed to the F gates, so clear early and use the time, because there is no going back for a forgotten meal landside. All three doors here shut by 21:00, which leaves the late New York and Florida departures loungeless. If your US flight leaves after 21:30, eat before security and treat the gate area as your lounge.
Terminal 3 · Domestic
Terminal 3 domestic lounges
| Lounge | Location | Hours | Access | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Plaza Premium Lounge | Level 2, near gates B22 and B24 | 05:30 to 22:00 | Priority Pass, DragonPass, eligible Amex Canada cards, paid entry | The default for WestJet domestic travelers; one room that fills with the morning bank, so prebook |
| Vino Volo wine bar | Gate B22 | 07:00 to 23:00 | Bookable through Plaza Premium; lounge program access to be confirmed | A wine flight and a cheese board beat pacing the pier; the overflow plan when the lounge is full |
WestJet runs no lounge of its own at Pearson, so the Plaza Premium near gate B24 carries the whole domestic zone in Terminal 3. It does the job: hot food, a bar, showers in the international sibling but not here. When the morning rush swallows every armchair, Vino Volo next to gate B22 is a genuinely pleasant fallback that most travelers walk straight past.
Terminal 3 · International
Terminal 3 international lounges
| Lounge | Location | Hours | Access | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| KLM Crown Lounge | One level above gate C33, past duty free | 08:00 to 22:30 Mon, Wed and Fri; 08:00 to 20:30 other days | Air France and KLM business class, SkyTeam premium cabins and Elite Plus, Flying Blue Gold and Platinum, Delta Sky Club members flying Delta, Priority Pass with a 3 hour cap, DragonPass, paid entry | Renovated in 2023; the strongest lounge at Pearson outside Air Canada's portfolio and a quiet win for Priority Pass holders |
| Plaza Premium Lounge | Level 2, near gate C32 | 05:30 to 01:00 | Priority Pass, DragonPass, eligible Amex Canada cards, paid entry | The latest door at the airport, with showers; US bound passengers are redirected to the transborder lounges |
This is the best zone at Pearson for a traveler without status. Two doors take Priority Pass, both sell entry, and the KLM Crown Lounge punches above the airport's usual standard: proper windows, SkyTeam food service and a calmer crowd than any Plaza Premium room. Use the Crown Lounge first within its 3 hour Priority Pass window, then slide to the Plaza Premium near C32 if your long haul flight leaves after the Crown closes.
Terminal 3 · US transborder
Terminal 3 US transborder lounges
| Lounge | Location | Hours | Access | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| American Airlines Admirals Club | Transfer level, near the duty free stores | 05:00 to 19:00 | Admirals Club members, eligible American Airlines and oneworld premium passengers and elites | The only oneworld lounge at Pearson; functional, friendly and showing its age politely |
| Plaza Premium Lounge | Level 2, near gate A10 | 05:30 to 19:30 | Priority Pass, DragonPass, eligible Amex Canada cards, paid entry | The open to all option behind preclearance; note the early close |
Both doors here shut by 19:30, the earliest lounge curfew at the airport. An evening American or Delta departure from Terminal 3 means no lounge, full stop, so front load your comfort: eat landside, clear preclearance with time to spare, and use the Plaza Premium while it is still pouring. The Admirals Club is the quieter room when both are open.

What actually opens these doors
Priority Pass is the widest key at Pearson: five Plaza Premium lounges, in Terminal 1 domestic, Terminal 1 US transborder, Terminal 3 domestic, Terminal 3 international and Terminal 3 US transborder, plus the KLM Crown Lounge in Terminal 3 with a 3 hour stay limit. The sixth Plaza Premium, in Terminal 1 international, is suspended while the lounge near gate E77 stays closed. Entry is always subject to space. For door by door strategy, queue patterns and the order to try them in, see the YYZ Priority Pass guide.
DragonPass mirrors the same list: the operating Plaza Premium lounges and the KLM Crown Lounge.
American Express has no Centurion lounge at YYZ. Platinum and Business Platinum cardholders use the Plaza Premium lounges through the Global Lounge Collection, and Amex also runs priority security lanes at Pearson for eligible cardholders. Top tier Aeroplan cards, including the Amex Aeroplan Reserve and the Visa Infinite Privilege Aeroplan cards from TD and CIBC, open Maple Leaf Lounges when you depart on an Air Canada flight.
Paying at the door works at the five operating Plaza Premium lounges regardless of airline or cabin, and prebooking online is cheaper than walking up. The KLM Crown Lounge also sells entry when space allows.
Class of travel and status covers the rest: Star Alliance keys rule Terminal 1, SkyTeam keys open the KLM Crown Lounge, and oneworld keys open the Admirals Club. The Signature Suite sits above all of it, reserved for eligible Signature Class fares with no guests permitted.
Programs shift and lounges move. Treat the tables above as the map, and confirm the door you are counting on the day you fly.
