The new Terminal 1 brought a real international lounge to Velana for the first time, but it does not take Priority Pass. Here is every door at MLE, which building it sits in, and exactly how to get through it.

How the Velana lounge map works
Velana spreads its lounges across four places: the new international Terminal 1, the domestic Terminal 2, the VIP terminal, and the Noovilu Seaplane Terminal a short drive away. Which one is useful depends entirely on how you are flying, because the buildings do not connect airside.
The flagship is the Koveli Lounge, which opened in September 2025 on the mezzanine of Terminal 1 with 1,230 square meters and around 270 seats. It is the room most international transit passengers will want, and it effectively serves as the British Airways and Virgin Atlantic contract lounge at MLE. The catch is access: it does not take Priority Pass, LoungeKey or DragonPass at all. The most accessible lounge by membership is the Moonimaa Lounge, but that one sits landside in the domestic area. Hours and walk in prices shift with the flight schedule, so treat the figures below as verify at booking.

Two things to take from the table. First, the Priority Pass room and the best international room are in different buildings, so your card is only useful if you can reach the domestic landside area. Second, the seaplane lounges come with the resort, not with any lounge card, and for upmarket bookings they are the most comfortable wait at the whole airport.

Priority Pass and DragonPass open the Moonimaa Lounge in the domestic area, landside before security. They do not open the Koveli Lounge in Terminal 1, which sits outside every third party program. If your plan rests on a lounge card, the Moonimaa is the one it works on.
Paying at the door works at two rooms. Koveli sells walk in entry at USD 83, payable in US dollars or by card, subject to space, and includes showers when they are open, a workstation zone and a children's play area. Moonimaa sells a walk in around USD 40 with a 2 hour cap. Confirm both on the day, since prices move.
Airline contract and status cover the rest. Koveli admits British Airways and Virgin Atlantic Business and First passengers and qualifying elite members, Leeli serves contracted domestic carriers only, and the seaplane lounges run on resort bookings. The Maamahi lounge in the VIP terminal is a paid CIP package with private immigration rather than a place you walk into between flights.
The single most useful rule at Velana is to match the lounge to your building. The new Koveli is the international answer, the Moonimaa is the Priority Pass answer, and a seaplane resort lounge is the answer if your booking includes one. None of them pour alcohol.

The Koveli Lounge leans modern and bright rather than resort warm, with a self serve buffet of hot and cold food and fresh juices and mocktails in place of a bar. Seating splits into sofa clusters, a dining area near the buffet, a workstation zone with power and USB sockets, a closed off quiet zone for resting, and a children's play area that makes it more family friendly than most rooms in the region. There are showers when they are open, a prayer room on the mezzanine, a baby care room, accessibility rooms, and floor to ceiling windows over the apron and runway. Hours track the international schedule and are not publicly posted, so confirm on the day and leave five to ten minutes to reach your gate.
The Moonimaa Lounge is a simpler proposition, with air conditioned seating, wifi, flight information screens, televisions and reading material, plus soft drinks and a light buffet rather than a full meal. It runs 06:00 to 23:00 and caps stays at 2 hours, which suits a domestic connection or a short wait before an evening international departure. Because it sits landside in the domestic area, factor in the walk and any rescreening if you are heading to an international gate afterward.
