New York JFK lounges JFK: every lounge and how to get in

JFK spreads roughly 25 lounges across its terminals. Here is every one, with hours and the realistic ways in.

Lounge verdict Good but fragmented. Terminal 4 holds around 10 lounges including two that run 24 hours, while Terminals 1 and 7 are mid relocation. Your lounge only helps if it sits in your terminal, since almost nothing connects airside.

Best access play The Chase Sapphire Lounge in Terminal 4. Sapphire Reserve cardholders walk in free with two guests, standard Priority Pass members get one free visit per calendar year, and anyone can buy a 100 dollar day pass.

The one thing to know Nearly every independent lounge at JFK enforces a 3 hour before departure rule, so on a long layover you wait outside until your window opens.

Terminal 1 has the best Priority Pass room at JFK, the Air France Lounge, but it is shrinking as the New Terminal One opens in phases beside it from June 2026.

The Turkish Airlines Lounge is relocating to the New Terminal One, where Qatar Airways and Korean Air are also building lounges, and the Lufthansa rooms are headed for Terminal 6. Confirm your departure terminal the week you fly.

Terminal 4

Terminal 4 lounges, the deep bench

Terminal 4 is where a JFK layover should live if you have any say. It holds the three big card lounges, two Delta Sky Clubs, the Delta One Lounge, and a row of airline rooms along Concourse A.

The Delta One Lounge spans over 39,000 square feet with a brasserie and an outdoor terrace; no Sky Club membership or Amex card opens that door. Minute Suites near gate B39 rents private nap rooms by the hour.

Terminals 5 and 6

Terminal 5 and the new Terminal 6

Terminal 5 is JetBlue territory and finally has a lounge: BlueHouse, opened in December 2025 across two floors with a game room and one of the only outdoor decks at JFK. Access is built around JetBlue's own elites and premium passengers.

Terminal 6 opened its first phase in May 2026, taking JetBlue and several Star Alliance carriers. Cathay Pacific, Lufthansa and Aer Lingus have all announced lounges here, with opening dates to be confirmed. For now it is a lounge desert.

Terminals 7 and 8

Terminal 7 winds down, Terminal 8 holds the oneworld row

Terminal 7 is emptying out as its airlines migrate to Terminals 6 and 8. The Alaska Lounge closed when Alaska moved to Terminal 8 in October 2025, leaving two airline rooms. Terminal 8 is the opposite: American and British Airways run a four lounge estate here.

The Terminal 8 lounges are status and cabin territory with no Priority Pass; the Admirals Club sells day passes at 79 dollars to anyone flying American or a oneworld partner.

Which doors open for you at JFK

Work down this list and stop at the first line that matches you.

Priority Pass. Concentrated in Terminals 1 and 4. The Air France and Primeclass lounges in Terminal 1 are reliable entries, HelloSky in Terminal 4 takes the card around the clock, and the Chase Sapphire Lounge grants standard members one free visit per calendar year. The Air India lounge turns members away when full, and Terminals 5, 7 and 8 have none at all. The full list sits on our Priority Pass at JFK guide.

A premium credit card. The strongest play in Terminal 4. An eligible American Express opens the Centurion Lounge, the Delta cobranded and Platinum cards buy limited Sky Club visits on Delta flights, Chase Sapphire Reserve opens the Sapphire Lounge with two free guests, and a Capital One Venture X opens the Capital One Lounge.

Cabin or status. First and business tickets plus alliance status open the airline rooms: Delta and SkyTeam in Terminal 4, Lufthansa and Star Alliance in Terminal 1 for now, ANA in Terminal 7, and the American and British Airways estate in Terminal 8. oneworld status only works on international itineraries here.

Cash. No card, no pass, no status: pay at the door. 79 dollars buys the Admirals Club, 90 dollars the 24 hour Capital One Lounge, 100 dollars the Chase Sapphire Lounge, and 50 dollars the Air France Lounge on a SkyTeam ticket. For an overnight window the Capital One pass is the pick, nothing else stays open past 1:15.
