Rome Fiumicino Lounges (FCO): Every Lounge and How to Get In

Fiumicino runs 12 lounges split across two airside worlds: Terminal 1 for Schengen flights and the E gates for everything else. Six doors open with Priority Pass and most of the rest sell entry in euros. Here is the full map.

Lounge verdict
Good and improving fast. Every passenger can buy a seat somewhere, the independent lineup has doubled since 2023, and Plaza Premium First in Terminal 1 is the first lounge of its kind in Europe.
Best access play
Priority Pass covers six doors: Plaza Premium, Prima Vista, Prima Vista Domus and Primeclass in Terminal 1, plus Plaza Premium and Prima Vista Portus out in the non Schengen E gates.
The one thing to know
Schengen or non Schengen decides everything. Terminal 1 airside and the E gates sit on opposite sides of passport control, so pick the lounge on your side of the border, not the famous one you cannot reach.

How the Fiumicino lounge map works

The border decides everything at FCO. Terminal 1 handles Schengen departures from the A gates, with every lounge sitting on the mezzanine level above the shops. Non Schengen flights board from area E, the long pier and satellite reached through Terminal 3 and passport control, and that is where the big airline lounges live: ITA Airways Piazza di Spagna, British Airways and Emirates. If you knew these doors under older names, the map has been redrawn. The Avia lounges now trade as Prima Vista, the old Alitalia rooms became ITA Airways lounges, and ITA itself switched from SkyTeam to Star Alliance on 1 April 2026, which rewired who gets in where.

Hours below were checked on 30 May 2026. Most doors open with the first wave around 04:30 to 06:00 and close between 21:30 and 23:00; nothing at Fiumicino runs around the clock. Capacity is the real constraint on the Schengen side, where the rooms are small and the morning bank is brutal, so prebook where the lounge sells reservations or keep a plan B from the tables below.

Prima Vista LoungeMezzanine level, near gates A31 to A5205:15 to 21:45Priority Pass, DragonPass, paid around 40 eurosOpened August 2025, bright and roomy at 610 square metres; the strongest Priority Pass pick in T1
Prima Vista DomusMezzanine level, near the food court05:15 to 21:45Priority Pass, DragonPass, paid around 40 eurosNo windows and no showers; useful overflow when the newer Prima Vista is full, and slated to close once it is not needed
Primeclass LoungeMezzanine level, gates A61 to A8305:30 to 22:00Priority Pass, DragonPass, paid entryWindowless but calm and the closest lounge to the far A gates; run by TAV and quietly competent

Six lounges within a few minutes of each other makes T1 one of the easiest Schengen terminals in Europe to lounge hop. The honest ranking for Priority Pass holders: Prima Vista first, Primeclass if you board from the high A gates, Domus as the fallback. Plaza Premium is the smallest of the four and the first to hit capacity. If you are paying cash, skip the standard rooms and put 70 euros into Plaza Premium First, which plays in a different league.

The non Schengen side is where Fiumicino earns its keep. The Piazza di Spagna lounge was already one of the better airline lounges in southern Europe, and since ITA joined Star Alliance in April 2026 a far larger pool of Gold cards opens it, so expect it busier than the reviews from 2024 suggest. Without status, Plaza Premium is the sensible default and Portus is the escape hatch when it queues. One quirk to respect: the upper level lounges sit near the start of the E pier, and the satellite gates E31 to E44 are a solid walk beyond them, so leave 15 minutes more than feels necessary.

Arrivals

LoungeLocationHoursAccessVerdict
HelloSky Lounge and Air RoomsLandside, near the Terminal 3 car park06:00 to 22:00Paid 25 euros, DragonPass; premium shower 25 eurosThe only arrivals lounge at FCO, walkable from both terminals; the 29 Air Rooms for short stays make it more useful than most

HelloSky is the answer to two common Fiumicino problems: landing from a long haul before a late onward connection, and a layover too long for a chair but too short for Rome. The 25 euro lounge entry covers seating, buffet and basic wifi; the Air Rooms next door rent private rooms by the block of hours and the premium showers are the cheapest reset at the airport. Note that it sits landside, so build in time to clear security again before your next flight.

What actually opens these doors

Priority Pass is the widest key at Fiumicino with six doors: Plaza Premium, Prima Vista, Prima Vista Domus and Primeclass on the Terminal 1 mezzanine, plus Plaza Premium and Prima Vista Portus in the E gates. There are no restaurant credits here, lounges only. Entry is always subject to space, and the two Plaza Premium rooms are the first to turn members away at peak times.

DragonPass is confirmed at four departure lounges, Primeclass, Prima Vista and Prima Vista Domus in Terminal 1 plus Prima Vista Portus in the E gates, and at the HelloSky arrivals lounge. DragonPass entry at the two Plaza Premium lounges is to be confirmed; operator lists disagree, so check your app before relying on it.

American Express runs no Centurion lounge in Rome. Platinum cardholders walk straight into Plaza Premium on both sides of the border, and the Priority Pass bundled with the card covers the rest of the independent lineup.

Paying at the door works at eight facilities. Around 40 euros buys any Prima Vista room, 45 to 48 euros buys Plaza Premium, 70 euros buys two hours at Plaza Premium First, and 25 euros buys the HelloSky arrivals lounge. Prebooking online is cheaper than walking up and is the only way to guarantee a seat in the smaller Terminal 1 rooms.

Class of travel and status covers the airline rooms. ITA Airways now anchors Star Alliance at FCO, so Star Gold and premium cabins open the Hangar and Piazza di Spagna lounges. British Airways and oneworld keys open the BA Club Lounge, and Emirates runs its own room around the Dubai schedule. SkyTeam elites lost their home when ITA switched alliances; Air France and KLM currently send premium passengers to Plaza Premium, so confirm with your carrier on the day.

Program rules shift and Fiumicino rebrands its lounges more often than most airports. Treat the tables above as the map, and confirm the door you are counting on the day you fly. For the full card strategy, see the FCO Priority Pass guide.
