Bucharest Otopeni Lounges OTP: every lounge and how to get in
Otopeni has exactly two lounges, both run by the airport, and the Schengen line decides which one is yours. Here is where each sits, who gets in, and why neither is worth arriving early for.

- Thin but functional. Two airport Business Lounges share the same buffet and the same plain fit out, one on the Schengen side near gate 3 and one in the non Schengen satellite near gate 9. There is no Amex Centurion, no airline flagship, and no premium alternative, so expectations should stay low.
- Best access play
- Both lounges now appear on Priority Pass, so a card is the simplest door without a business class ticket. Star Alliance, SkyTeam and oneworld status work on the matching carriers, and several Romanian bank cards open them too. Confirm Priority Pass in the app before you rely on it.
- The one thing to know
- The two lounges sit on opposite sides of passport control. The Satellite lounge is behind the booths in the non Schengen area, so you can only reach it once you fly beyond Schengen. Pick by your destination, not by which lounge sounds better.

How the Otopeni lounge map works
The Schengen change reshaped the lounges. Romania became a full Schengen member on 1 January 2025, and that moved the old Mastercard lounge behind passport control. Now there are two airport Business Lounges instead of one shared room. The Schengen Business Lounge near gate 3 serves every flight staying inside the Schengen area. The Satellite Business Lounge near gate 9, the renamed former Mastercard lounge, sits past the booths in the non Schengen section and serves flights to the UK, Turkey, Israel, the Gulf and other countries outside Schengen.
Both are reached after security. Turn right, walk through the duty free shop, and the Schengen lounge is up a level from the main concourse. Keep walking straight to the passport booths, clear exit immigration, then take the stairs or lift up to the mezzanine for the Satellite lounge. The food and drinks are identical in both, so the only real choice is the one your destination puts you in. Hours are the catch: the airport calls its lounges nonstop while lounge program listings show roughly 04:30 to 22:00, so treat exact hours as to be confirmed.

The Satellite lounge is the former Mastercard Business Lounge, renamed and lightly refreshed after Schengen entry pushed it behind border control. It is the designated lounge for the non Schengen carriers, which here means Air Serbia, British Airways, El Al, flydubai, Qatar Airways, TAROM and Turkish Airlines among others. There is no Amex Centurion lounge at Otopeni and no separate airline flagship, so these two rooms are the whole picture.

What you actually get
The food is honest fuel rather than a meal, and it does not change through the day. Expect pastries, pre packed sandwiches, a basic cheese plate, pizza slices and deep fried snacks like nuggets, hash browns and spring rolls, plus yoghurt, pudding and fruit bowls in the fridge. If you arrive hungry expecting a hot meal, lower the bar.
The drinks run to Nespresso coffee in paper cups, bottled water and soft drinks, cans of Tuborg beer, one white and one red Romanian wine, and a shelf of basic spirits. Wifi is decent if not always reliable, there is a sealed smoking room at the back, and power is scarce: a few blue charging stations with USB and phone cables rather than sockets at the seats.
The catch is crowding. Partnerships with Priority Pass and local bank cards have pushed numbers up, so at the early morning departure bank between roughly 5 and 8 both lounges fill and seats run short. Outside that window they can be a quiet enough place to wait. The verdict holds either way: do not arrive early just for the lounge, since there is little here to draw the time out.
