Detroit Metropolitan Lounges (DTW): Every Lounge and How to Get In
Detroit Metro runs five Delta Sky Clubs in the McNamara Terminal and exactly one true lounge in the Evans Terminal. Priority Pass opens more doors here than most travelers realize. Here is the full map.
- Lounge verdict
- Good if you fly Delta, thin if you do not. Five Sky Clubs cover the McNamara Terminal end to end, and the Lufthansa Business Lounge in the Evans Terminal is the only door at DTW that sells entry to anyone.
- Best access play
- Priority Pass. It opens the Lufthansa Business Lounge for up to 3 hours, pays 28 dollars of your bill at Anita's Kitchen, and trades a visit for an hour at Minute Suites, a Gameway session, or a Be Relax massage.
- The one thing to know
- The McNamara and Evans terminals are not connected airside. Switching means a landside shuttle and a fresh security screening, so the only lounges that matter are the ones in your departure terminal.
Orientation
How the DTW lounge map works
Detroit Metro splits cleanly in two. The McNamara Terminal belongs to Delta and its SkyTeam partners: Concourse A stretches about a mile with the ExpressTram running overhead between three stations, and a tunnel drops down to the smaller B and C concourses used mostly by regional flights. Every Sky Club at the airport lives in McNamara. The Evans Terminal, still called the North Terminal by most locals, handles everyone else, from American and United to Lufthansa and Air Canada, and keeps a single lounge near its D gates.
Hours below were checked on 26 April 2026. The headline for early risers is the Sky Club across from gate A38, which opens at 04:15 and runs to 22:30, well beyond every other door at the airport except Minute Suites, which never closes. There is no Escape Lounge and no Amex Centurion lounge at DTW, whatever an out of date listing may tell you, so set expectations accordingly and plan around the keys you actually hold.
McNamara Terminal
McNamara Terminal lounges (Concourses A, B and C)
| Lounge | Location | Hours | Access | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Delta Sky Club (A18) | Concourse A, level 2 at the ExpressTram South Station, across from gate A18 | Sun to Fri 06:00 to 21:00; Sat 06:30 to 12:30 | Delta One, SkyTeam international premium cabins, eligible Medallion and SkyTeam Elite Plus flyers, Delta Reserve and Amex Platinum cards | The calm south end pick; note the early Saturday close |
| Delta Sky Club (A38) | Gate level at the link, across from gate A38 | Daily 04:15 to 22:30 | Same Sky Club rules as above | The flagship: longest hours at DTW and the only Sky Club showers |
| Delta Sky Club (A43) | Concourse A, gate level, across from gate A43 | Daily 07:00 to 21:00 | Same Sky Club rules as above | Mid concourse and convenient, which is exactly why it queues at peaks |
| Delta Sky Club (A68) | Concourse A, level 2 at the ExpressTram North Station, across from gate A68 | Sun to Fri 06:00 to 21:00; Sat 06:30 to 12:30 | Same Sky Club rules as above | The north end twin of A18; quieter than the gate level clubs |
| Delta Sky Club (B/C) | Gate level, between gates B2 and C9 | Daily 06:00 to 21:00 | Same Sky Club rules as above | The only club past the tunnel; use it if you fly from a B or C gate |
| Minute Suites | Near gate A66 | 24 hours | Priority Pass for the first hour; paid from 65 dollars per hour | Private daybed rooms; the only 24 hour door at the airport |
| Gameway | Near gate A17, and between gates A63 and A65 | Daily 07:00 to 21:00 | Priority Pass for a 60 minute session with a drink and snack; paid from 17.99 dollars | Gaming stations rather than a lounge, but a real Priority Pass redemption |
| Be Relax Spa | Between gates A43 and A45 | Mon to Sat 07:00 to 21:00; Sunday to be confirmed | Priority Pass swaps a visit for one set treatment; paid menu for everyone else | A 30 minute massage instead of a buffet; better than it sounds mid layover |
| Freedom Center | Near gate A43 | Volunteer staffed; hours vary | Active duty military, reservists, retirees, veterans and dependents | Free food, quiet seating and a kids corner for those who qualify |
Pick your club by gate and by clock. The A38 flagship at the link is the default: it opens at 04:15 for the first departure bank, closes last, and holds the airport's only Sky Club showers. The tram station clubs at A18 and A68 are the quieter rooms, but both shut at 12:30 on Saturday afternoons, a trap that catches weekend connectors every week. If you are stuck at a B or C regional gate, the club between B2 and C9 saves you the tunnel walk back. None of the five sells a day pass at the door, so without a Delta key your McNamara options are Minute Suites, Gameway, and the spa.
Evans Terminal
Evans Terminal lounges (North Terminal, D gates)
| Lounge | Location | Hours | Access | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lufthansa Business Lounge | Departure level, between gates D6 and D8 | Mon, Wed, Fri 06:00 to 21:00; Tue, Thu, Sat 06:00 to 19:00; Sun 11:00 to 19:00 | Star Alliance business and first, Star Alliance Gold, Miles and More elites, Priority Pass with a 3 hour cap, day pass from 39 dollars booked online | Tarmac views and the only lounge at DTW anyone can buy into |
| Anita's Kitchen | Near gate D23 | Restaurant hours, to be confirmed | Priority Pass dining credit of 28 dollars; open menu for all passengers | Lebanese plates that beat most lounge buffets; the smart Evans play |
| Freedom Center | Near gate D17 | Volunteer staffed; hours vary | Active duty military, reservists, retirees, veterans and dependents | The Evans counterpart to the McNamara military lounge |
One real lounge, one restaurant credit, and that is the whole Evans inventory. The Lufthansa Business Lounge punches above its weight: hot food, a staffed bar, tarmac views, and an entry price from 39 dollars that makes it one of the cheaper paid lounges at any American hub. Its hours move with the day of the week and start at 11:00 on Sundays, so check before you commit, and note that Priority Pass entry windows shown in the app can be narrower than the lounge's posted hours. When the lounge is full or closed, the 28 dollar Priority Pass credit at Anita's Kitchen buys a proper sit down meal near gate D23.

What actually opens these doors
Class of travel and status rules the McNamara side. Delta One passengers walk into any Sky Club on the day of travel, as do SkyTeam passengers ticketed in international business or first. Diamond, Platinum and Gold Medallion members get in when flying Delta One or international Premium Select, and SkyTeam Elite Plus status works with a same day international SkyTeam itinerary in any cabin. In the Evans Terminal, the Lufthansa Business Lounge follows Star Alliance rules: business and first cabins, Star Alliance Gold with one guest, plus Miles and More Senator and HON Circle privileges.
Delta Amex cards are the workhorse keys here. The Delta SkyMiles Reserve card includes 15 Sky Club visits per Medallion year and the Amex Platinum card includes 10, each requiring a same day Delta marketed or operated flight, and each unlocking unlimited visits after 75,000 dollars of spend in a calendar year. Guests cost 50 dollars per person. Sky Club individual membership runs 695 dollars a year and the Executive tier 1,495 dollars, both limited to travelers on Delta or partner flights.
Priority Pass covers five DTW doors, and only one is a classic lounge: the Lufthansa Business Lounge in the Evans Terminal, capped at 3 hours per visit and restricted to members 21 and over. The rest are experiences: a 28 dollar food and drink credit at Anita's Kitchen near gate D23, one hour in a private Minute Suites room near gate A66, a 60 minute Gameway gaming session, and a set treatment at Be Relax Spa. Memberships issued through Amex and Capital One cards exclude the restaurant credit. The full strategy lives in the DTW Priority Pass guide.
Paying at the door works in exactly one lounge: the Lufthansa Business Lounge sells day passes from 39 dollars when booked online, with any airline's same day boarding pass accepted. Beyond that, Minute Suites charges 65 dollars for the first hour and Gameway starts at 17.99 dollars for 30 minutes. The Delta Sky Clubs sell nothing at the door, so do not build a layover plan around talking your way in.
Programs shift and hours drift, especially the Saturday closures at the tram station clubs and the Sunday late start in the Evans Terminal. Treat the tables above as the map, and confirm the door you are counting on the day you fly.

FAQ
Detroit Metro lounge questions
Which DTW lounges take Priority Pass?
One true lounge: the Lufthansa Business Lounge in the Evans Terminal, capped at 3 hours per visit and restricted to members 21 and over. The same membership also covers a 28 dollar dining credit at Anita's Kitchen near gate D23, an hour at Minute Suites near gate A66, a 60 minute Gameway session, and a treatment at Be Relax Spa in the McNamara Terminal.
Can I pay to enter a lounge at DTW without status or a premium ticket?
Yes, in the Evans Terminal. The Lufthansa Business Lounge sells day passes from 39 dollars when booked online, and any airline's same day boarding pass is accepted. The Delta Sky Clubs do not sell day passes at the door.
How many Delta Sky Clubs does DTW have?
Five, all in the McNamara Terminal: across from gates A18, A38, A43 and A68, plus one between gates B2 and C9 for the regional concourses. The A38 club at the link is the flagship, open daily 04:15 to 22:30 with the only Sky Club showers at the airport.
Is there a lounge in the North Terminal at DTW?
Yes, one. The Lufthansa Business Lounge sits between gates D6 and D8 in the Evans Terminal, the current name for the North Terminal, and opens to Star Alliance premium cabins, Star Alliance Gold, Priority Pass, and day pass buyers. The Freedom Center near gate D17 serves military travelers and their families.
Is there an Escape Lounge or Amex Centurion lounge at DTW?
No, neither operates at Detroit Metro as of June 2026. Amex Platinum cardholders use the Delta Sky Clubs instead, with 10 visits per Medallion year when flying Delta the same day, and the card also opens the Lufthansa Business Lounge when flying a Lufthansa Group airline.
Do any DTW lounges have showers?
The Delta Sky Club across from gate A38 is the only Sky Club at DTW with showers. Minute Suites near gate A66 also rents showers for an extra fee with advance reservation, and it stays open 24 hours a day.
